RAC Arena has officially come under the direct management of VenuesWest from today, 1 July 2026, marking a new chapter for one of Western Australia’s premier sport and entertainment venues.
The transition follows a comprehensive procurement process, which determined that direct management would deliver the best value for Western Australians, including millions of dollars in savings and improved operational efficiency.
The first events under VenuesWest management will commence this week with the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, with the Boomers taking on Guam on 3 July and the Philippines on 6 July.
RAC Arena has established itself as Australia’s home of basketball, consistently drawing the biggest NBL crowds and playing host to HoopsFest, secured for Perth through to 2028.
The West Coast Fever also continue to thrive at RAC Arena, setting multiple attendance records during the 2026 Super Netball season, including a club record crowd of 13,857 fans in Round 12.
There are more than 20 music and comedy events locked in over the next 12 months, including a two-night stand from superstar local act Tame Impala.
Through direct management, the venue is expected to continue to attract major national and international events to Western Australia, creating more opportunities for local audiences.
After establishing RAC Arena as one of Australia’s leading arenas since opening, Legends Global will continue as the venue’s hospitality provider.
VenuesWest has worked with Legends Global to ensure minimal disruption to staffing and operations during the transition, with the vast majority of staff taking on positions to continue in their roles.
