Zoe Arancini Announces Retirement from International Water Polo

After an outstanding 16-year international career, former VenuesWest Brand Ambassador and Aussie Stingers Captain Zoe Arancini has announced her retirement from international water polo.

Zoe leaves behind an exceptional legacy in the sport:

  • 330 international caps – the most by any female water polo player from Western Australia

  • Three Olympic Games appearances – Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024

  • Silver medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the 2013 World Championships

  • Bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships

From her early beginnings playing Flippa Ball in Melville to captaining the Australian team on the world stage, Zoe has consistently demonstrated excellence, leadership and resilience throughout her career. We have been proud to have Zoe represent VenuesWest as a Brand Ambassador, and we thank her for her contribution as a role model and advocate for sport in Western Australia. 

While Zoe’s international career comes to a close, she will continue to support the sport by mentoring young athletes and playing domestically for Melville and Fremantle next summer. We congratulate Zoe on her incredible achievements and wish her all the best in the next chapter of her
