Tips for a stress-free Xmas party

While Christmas is still 6 months away; if the first half of this year is anything to go by it will be here in no time and you can make your December life easier with a little effort now.

To help you plan a successful end of year event we have a couple of industry insider tips that will ensure a fantastic and less stressful celebration.   

1. Book your venue today – With most schools out by Friday, 16 December there are only two true weekends in December. Whether you want to be by the river; in a pub or host your own private function the longer you wait the less choice you will have. Most other details you can source later but if you don’t have a venue you may be hosting at home.
   
   
2. Lock in a theme – While not every Christmas party has to be a recreation of Alice in wonderland; theming and event styling are integral in creating atmosphere that will help make your event a success. With that in mind there are only so many snow machines or 1920’s stage sets in Perth so it will pay to book early. A number of companies have a minimum spend for events in December so if your budget conscious it may pay to shop around.
   
   
3. Book your entertainment – similar to themes; there are only so many quality entertainment options available so if you know you want a magician or a live band book now otherwise it might be a David Copperfield video and the guy from IT’s mixed tape.
   
   
4. Lean on your suppliers – Unlike the USA, WA doesn’t have many specialist “Party Planners” however every venue, catering, AV or theming company can probably not only make recommendations but in fact organise everything you need on your behalf.
