Sports fan are guaranteed to enjoy the next few months. The Hyundai A-League season has kicked off with Perth Glory having played the first of their 13 home games at nib Stadium. The season continues through to April providing plenty of chances to catch the action and overlapping with the start of the Rugby Union season which will see the Western Force take to the green at the end of February.
nib Stadium expects to welcome about a quarter of a million fans into the venue throughout the Glory and Force seasons.
The Ladies Gridiron League will see the West Coast Angels also call nib Stadium home this summer, playing their first game on 14 November.
The Perth Wildcats tipped off their season with a solid win over the Adelaide 36ers. As the best-attended team in the league there’s no doubt that the Red Army will be out in force at Perth Arena this season, cheering them on to a record seventh premiership.
Perth Lynx, WA’s Women’s National Basketball League team, have bought in a new-look team as part of their recent alignment with the Wildcats. After a convincing first game win at Bendat Basketball Centre in front of 1000 fans, the season is off to a promising start.
Following on from their World Cup victory, the Australian Diamonds recently took on the New Zealand Silver Ferns in the final Constellation Cup match at Perth Arena in front of a record netball crowd for WA. This match also marked Perth Arena’s 250th event!
Perth Arena will be transformed to host the Perth 2016 Hyundai Hopman Cup from 3 to 9 January. Australian and international tennis sensations are sure to impress and inspire, and a range of entertainment and activities on offer ensures a great experience for all ages.

Music acts Florence and the Machine, Cold Chisel, Neil Diamond, Sam Smith, Chris Brown and children’s favourites The Wiggles are all performing this year. They are joined by comedian Russel Brand, Aussie Hugh Jackman and global media icon Oprah Winfrey.
Back by popular demand, Ed Sheeran returns to Perth, playing to a near capacity crowd at nib Stadium on 2 December for the second show of his Australian tour.
