More than a word. Reconciliation takes action.

Today, 27 May marks the start of National Reconciliation Week which will run until 3 June. These dates are the same every year and commemorate the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision. Use the links above to learn about these two significant milestones in Australia's reconciliation journey using the links above.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for us to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how we can contribute on an individual or collective level to achieving reconciliation in Australia. As a member of the public visiting one of our 13 venues, don't underestimate the impact that you can have with your actions.

Reconciliation is not just a concept or trend but should live in the minds and actions of us all as we attempt to create respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Over the coming days, you may notice some staff members around the venues wearing t-shirts acknowledging VenuesWest's commitment to reconciliation.

We will continue to share all activities by VenuesWest over the week.
