VenuesWest is thrilled to announce HBF Stadium’s toilets and change rooms will receive a well-deserved makeover, this forms part of VenuesWest’s commitment to upgrade its sporting, recreation and entertainment venues.

VenuesWest Chairman Graham Partridge OAM said VenuesWest has committed to spend $3.6 million by 2016 upgrading HBF Stadium.

“After approval from the VenuesWest Board and receiving feedback from our valued customers we have committed to refurbishing 70 per cent of existing toilets and change rooms, adding new flooring and commencing the ‘New Vision’ project.

“In response to the Centre for Environmental Management (CERM) survey results regularly undertaken by our HBF Stadium patrons, we have listened to our customers and have placed upgrading HBF Stadium on the top of our priority list,”Mr Partridge said.

“We will begin the upgrade program with refurbishing the female and male toilets at the top of the concourse (east of the reception). While the refurbishments are carried out alternative toilet and change room access will be provided.

It is expected upgrading of the bathrooms will take place over a nine month period with works programmed continuously over this period.

Furthermore, new floor coverings to enhance the already improved colour scheme will be installed at the western entry, with floor tiling and carpet being laid.

Also included in the funding is the 'New Vision' project, which includes:

  • Creation of two (2) new dedicated outdoor function areas
  • Refurbishment of the exterior façade
  • Refurbishment of function rooms
  • Landscaping and exterior enhancement
  • Installation of improved flooring
  • Improved VIP main arena entrance

The new function and public open space will interconnect with the existing building and create new community and commercial opportunities. The original 1986 entrance to HBF Stadium will also be upgraded.

“The commencement of all of these upgrades is very exciting and we know our customers will greatly benefit and appreciate the end result,” Mr Partridge said.

“This forms our commitment to preserving one of Australia's most iconic sporting venues.”
