In a first for Western Australia, VenuesWest has signed a license agreement with Jetpack Adventures for the local community to experience water powered jetpack training at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre expected to be up and running by early November.

The innovative water propelled Jetpack system reaches approximately 10 metres high while water is pumped from a JetSki like device up a large hose to the Jetpack unit. All jetpacks have a safety lanyard stop/start mechanism similar to a Jetski allowing full control of the jetpack.

VenuesWest Chairman Graham Partridge OAM says “this is an exciting new addition to the already diverse sporting family at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, which includes rowing, canoeing, dragon boating, triathlon events and other national and international water sport competitions.”

“We are very excited to welcome this unique attraction to our wold class venue and to the local community. This is a great way to get the adrenaline pumping while staying healthy and active,” said Mr Partridge.

Jetpack Adventures CEO Peter Vail reports, “We would like to thank VenuesWest for supporting this new Jetpack Flight Centre at Champion Lakes. The Jetpack Centre will create jobs, and provide a safe, fun activity to compliment the Champion Lake Regatta Centre’s range of activities.

“The Jetpack Flight Centre will employ a team of 10-12 local people, on a casual basis through the Summer season and is modelled on the success of our Flagship Jetpack school at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, said Mr Vail.

The Champion Lakes Regatta Centre includes a 55 hectare lake, 2000 metre international standard rowing course, warm up lake, boat shed storage area and clubhouse.
